Naan is nothing but Indian style flat bread which is traditionally cooked in hot clay tandoori oven but nowadays it is even cooked on a skillet. These naan's taste the same as in the restaurant.They go well will veg and non-veg curries, such as paneer butter masala, mixed veg-curry..etc..The main difference between naan and roti which are both Indian style flatbreads are roti made with wheat with no yeast in it and naan made with maida with yeast in it.

INGREDIENTS:


  •               21/2-cup of maida/all purpose flour
  •               7.08g-instant dry yeast
  •               1 t-spoon sugar
  •               1/2 cup lukewarm water
  •               1/2 yogurt
  •               1 tablespoons oil
  •               4 tablespoon salted butter(melted)






METHOD:



  • Before starting with the procedure lets activate the yeast.
  • Take a small bowl, add the lukewarm water and sugar to it and add the dry yeast and allow it to activate.when bubbles starts to appear it indicates that the yeast is activated.
  • Now in a mixing bowl add the all purpose flour(maida), yogurt,oil, and the activated yeast mixture. Knead the dough softly and until they become soft.
  • Cover the dough with a damp cloth and allow it to prove i.e until the dough becomes double in size. (this process easily takes about an hour)
  • After they are double in size take the dough and place it in a dusted platform and divide it into 8 to 10 equal parts.
  • Using a rolling pin roll them into an imperfect circle. (The dia of the circle can be around 6"-8").
  • Grease the skillet with some oil and heat it up so as to avoid the dough sticking to it. Place the single flat dough on the hot skillet and when the dough rises up and gets black spots on the bottom side flip it and do the same procedure on the other side. Now do the same for all the flat dough. Your naan is ready
  • Apply some melted butter over the naan and it is ready to serve...
