In this post I will let you all know the easy and simple recipe to make the best carrot halwa!!.I love this carrot halwa so much that I have started to make this whenever I have time!...So I'm pretty sure that after trying this even you will start loving them as I do!!!!.....😍😋So Let's start cooking!!!

Category:sweets
Prep time:10 mins
Cooking time:35-40 mins

INGREDIENTS

  • 4-5 carrots
  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 1-1.25 glass of milk or mix 50% milk and 50% water
  • 1/2 teaspoon of Elaichi or Cardamom powder
  • Chopped cashews,pistachios and almonds
  • Ghee

METHOD

  • Grate all the carrots finely with a grater.
  • Now add some ghee in the hot sauce pan wait till the ghee melts.
  • Add all the grated carrots and stir fry.cook them in the ghee until the dark orange colour of the carrot change in to light faded orange, best way to know is the grated carrots will start to curl and shrink in size.
  • Now add milk and allow them to cook for 5 mins until the milk boils and thickens.
  • After the milk thickens add sugar and mix well.this is the crucial stage ,hence keep stirring to avoid any burns.
  • noe add cardamom powder and mix
  • Add generous amount of ghee and switch off the flame.
  • Sprinkle some grated nuts and serve!!!
  • Delicious carrot halwa is ready.
Pro tip:Add sugar after boiling the milk and carrots.because carrots won't be cooked if you add sugar directly after stir frying them.
You can also mix ghee and oil to fry the carrots.
Grating is better than chopping. As far as I have tried grated carrots cook well and consumes less time while the chopped one (how much ever fine it might be) takes more time to cook.
