How to cook pasta

How to cook pasta

Everyone loves to cook pasta but there comes the issue the pasta sometimes get sticky or so hard.So in this post I will let you all know what are the common types of pasta available and how can we use them and basic cooking technique.

Basic cooking method:

  • Take a large saucepan
  • Pour water in it and boil.
  • When the water starts to boil add 2-3 tablespoons of oil(any vegetable oil) and salt to it
  • Adding oil will make each pasta separate and non sticky.
  • Allow them to cook ..(sometimes it might depend on the pasta brand that you are using so better check the pack for accurate timings).
  • Best way to know whether it is cooked or not is tasting,Al dente*(should be little chewy and firm)
  • Stir them occasionally.
  • Drain the pasta and reserve the water for making the pasta sauce. It will give you creamier and thicker pasta sauce.
  • Your Al-dente pasta is ready now to be mixed with a pasta sauce or just a salad!!! it's your choice...

Al-dente*-It basically means undercooked pasta which is firm and little chewy in culinary terms. It is an italian word which actually means to the tooth.

Quantity will be based on the ingredients used.
